Q1: How many East Coast Line Shuttle Buses run per day?
A: The East Coast Line Shuttle Bus is a cruise bus (where tourists can get on and off the same bus at certain points). Each shuttle bus runs once per day per route: 8101A (day trip), 8101B (morning half-day trip, available from 113/6/21-9/20), and 8101D (half day in the afternoon including night visit to Xiaoyeliu, available from 113/6/21-9/20).
Q2: How do I find information on each East Coast Line Shuttle Bus route?
A: Visit the Taiwan Trip website at: https://www.taiwantrip.com.tw/Frontend/Route/Select - For more information on East Coast Line shuttle buses or to download timetables and a list of ticket fares: Select “Routes” → “E” → “Taitung City”.
Q3: What is a cruise bus?
A: A cruise bus departs at a specific time and drops passengers off and waits at specific stops. This saves tourists time waiting on buses as they get on and off the same bus.

Q1: How do I purchase an East Coast Line Shuttle Bus ticket or package?
A: There are two types of fare: Package (one-day trip ticket or half day trip ticket) or charged by stop. Our package ticket can be purchased online (https://www.hodiway.com/), on the bus, or through 7-11 (ibon), ezTravel, ezFly, or Colatour. If you wish to be charged by stop, you can swipe your e-card (i.e., EasyCard or iPASS) when getting on and off the bus, or simply purchase your ticket from the bus driver in cash.
Q2: After purchasing an East Coast Line Shuttle Bus package online, how do I receive my ticket?
A: On the shuttle bus, you can get your ticket from the bus driver with your ID card. You can also opt for an e-ticket at the time of purchasing your ticket online. Please note, you must have your mobile phone with you on the day of trip to present your e-ticket.
Q3: Can I purchase a ticket on the bus?
A: Yes, you can. You can purchase a ticket for a package (day trip ticket or half-day trip ticket) in cash. If you wish to be charged by stop, you can pay by cash or swipe your e-card (i.e., EasyCard or iPASS) when getting on and off the bus. Please note, those who have reserved a seat in advance have priority when boarding the bus.
Q4: Can I reserve a seat in advance?
A: You will have a seat reserved when you make your booking on www.hodiway.com. If you make your booking elsewhere, you must go to www.hodiway.com and click on “Seat Reservation”. This must be done by 12pm on the day before your trip. Those purchasing a ticket on the bus or without a seat reserved must wait to be seated, as those who have reserved a seat in advance have priority.
Q5: Are the package fares different for adults/children/the disabled?
A: There are adult and concession tickets. Concession tickets are available for those with an elderly card, children under 12, the disabled, as well as those accompanying them (you must show proof if your child is over 150cm but under 12 years old).
Q6: Do children need a bus ticket?
A: Children under 115cm in height or under 6 years old can take the bus for free. Proof must be provided and the child must be accompanied by an adult with a purchased ticket. Please note that children without a purchased ticket cannot occupy a seat. A half-priced ticket (charged by stop) must be purchased if a child is over 115cm but less than 150cm in height, or 150cm in height but less than 12 years old. Proof of identification must be provided. Children occupying a seat must purchase a concession ticket.
Q7: Are there discounts for older people and the disabled?
A: Yes. Half-priced tickets (charged by stop) are offered to those who are over 65 years old with an ID card or elderly card; disabled with a disability card; as well as their guardian or those taking care of them. If a package is desired, please purchase a concession ticket.
Q8: How many tickets can I purchase online?
A: You can purchase up to 8 tickets per order. If you are purchasing different types of ticket (adult and concession), please place separate orders.
Q9: What kind of ticket should I purchase for the East Coast Line Shuttle Bus 8101D trip (including night visit to Xiaoyeliu)?
A: The East Coast Line Shuttle Bus half day ticket can be used for 8101B (morning half-day trip, available from 113/6/21-9/20), and 8101D (half day in the afternoon including night visit to Xiaoyeliu, available from 113/6/21-9/20).
Q10: Are there any discounts when I purchase the East Coast Line Shuttle Bus ticket?

Q1: How do I get to the Taiwan Trip bus stop from the Taitung Railway Station?
A: Follow the sign at the exit of the Taitung Railway Station and then walk about 130 meters.
Q2: Does the East Coast Line Shuttle Bus pass Taitung Airport? How do I get to an East Coast Line Shuttle Bus station if I fly to Taitung?
A: There is no stop at Taitung Airport. However, passengers who have purchased a package ticket can take Shing Dong bus (Coast Line 8128) for free within two days of the shuttle bus trip to the Taitung Bus Station, where passengers can take the East Coast Line Shuttle Bus.
Q3: Can I take any other bus for free with a purchased East Coast Line Shuttle Bus package?
A: Passengers with a purchased East Coast Line Shuttle Bus package can take Shing Dong bus 8128 and 8115 for free within two days of their shuttle bus trip. 8128: Round trip from Taitung Airport to the Taitung Bus Station. 8115: Round trip from the Taitung Bus Station to the National Museum of Prehistory.

Q1: Can I take my suitcase on the bus?
A: As the shuttle bus is barrier-free, we do not provide luggage compartments. Passengers are advised to travel light.
Q2: Can I take my pet on the bus?
A: To ensure the quality of our service, no pets are allowed except for guide dogs.
Q3: Can I take my bike on the bus?
A: You can take a folding bike on the bus, provided it is inside a bike bag to be carried by the owner. The bike may not occupy a seat. Due to the fact that our shuttle buses are barrier free, there are no luggage compartments. Passengers with a folding bike are unlikely to be able to get on the bus if it is full.
Q4: Do you provide tour guides on the East Coast Line Shuttle Bus?
A: We provide a tour guide on shuttle bus the east coast line 8101A From now until February 28, 2025.
Q5: Do you provide travel information on this route?
A: Travel leaflets are available at Taitung Railway Visitor Center, Taitung Bus Station Tourist Center, Xiaoyeliu Visitor Center, Torik Visitor Center, Sanxiantai Visitor Center, In addition, there is a QR code on the pillow cover on the chair back of this route. You can scan the QR code yourself to obtain information about The East Coast Line.
Q6: Is there free WIFI on the bus?
A: Free WIFI is provided on the bus. Please see instructions on the back of the seat.

Q8: Could the 8101D night visit to Xiaoyeliu be canceled due to bad weather?
A: The visit may be canceled due to bad weather. In this case, the bus will return earlier.
Q9: How do I change the date or cancel the ticket I purchased online?
A: To cancel a ticket, please go to “Order Enquiry”; enter your ID card number and date of travel; click “cancel ticket”. A refund will be issued once it has been processed by customer service. A refund after deducting the handling fee will be issued back to the credit card used at the time of purchase. This may take 14-21 days. If you wish to change the date of travel, please make a new order and cancel your old order by following the steps above. After completion, please call our customer service at 02-23215955#22. An advisor will help you with the refund with no handling fee deducted.
